ABOUT

"This will change the way architectural design is done. Now designs that were impractical because of installation restrictions can be reevaluated knowing that our crane can do things never before available to the building industry."

Unic Model Number URW295 Gas/Propane/Elect

COMPACT DESIGN
The main advantage of the UNIC SPYDERCRANE over larger cranes is what can be done as a result of its compact and highly maneuverable design. At only 2 feet wide , 4 feet tall and 9 feet long, it can fit through doorways, fit on most service elevators and be erected where other cranes are unable to travel, allowing you to work efficiently in confined working spaces you never thought you could before. This opens up all sorts of new opportunities in crane usage never before available.  Using an experienced operator or with some practice your self, you can go from travel position to the fully expanded position in about five minutes and you are ready for your first pick.

VERSATILE OUTRIGGER CONFIGURATIONS
What makes the Spyder Crane unique ( it’s name denotes it’s appearance when the outriggers are deployed) is the ability to place the outriggers where ever you can to meet both the load requirement and safety needs but only using the space available. As each outrigger can be adjusted independently, uneven terrain is no problem. Each outrigger can be set to 52 different positions using the 2 locking pins in each leg. At maximum extension the outriggers make a square 12.7 feet by 12.8 feet where as using the minimum extensions you get a rectangle that is 8.4 feet long and 7.6 feet wide. The boom can slew 360 degrees (continuous rotation) so you need not worry about how you placed the crane.

FUNCTIONAL WORKING RADIUS
Closeness to the center of the boom is the secret to the Spyder Crane. With the placement of the outriggers it’s very easy to keep the pick close there by allowing higher lifting capacity. For example;
A load of 6450 Lbs. with a radius of 4.5 feet.
A load of 3800 Lbs. with a radius of 8 feet.
A load of 2000 Lbs. with a radius of 13 feet.
A load of 920 Lbs. with a radius of 16 feet.
A load of 590 Lbs. with a radius of 21 feet.
A load of 350 Lbs. with a radius of 28 feet ( max. extension).

MULTIPLE POWER SOURCES
The 295 comes with 3 ways to power the crane. The gas works well outdoors as you need very good ventilation because of the exhaust fumes. You can switch to propane when you need to work indoors where there is some ventilation but this source also has some exhaust and a little bit of a smell. For confined spaces or where ever you can come up with the power (portable generator, electric dryer or stove and so on). It uses 220 volts single phase at 30 amps/ 5 HP. We provide a twist lock cable end. You will need to make up an adaptor to fit the connection you will be using. This mode is also the quietest as only the electric pump is working and no exhaust!

EASY TRANSPORTATION
The GVW of the 295 is only 4,100 Lbs which means most commercial hydraulic tail gates can lift the crane and it is very easy to maneuver on and off the gate. It will also fit most 2 axle equipment trailers available from most rental yards and we are working on a custom enclosed van that we will be offering pick up and delivery with soon.

ABOUT THE OWNER/OPERATOR
David Steinitz has been involved in both the building industry and the motion picture industry for over 40 years and has a working knowledge that allows him to look at applications that would warrant using the UNIC Spyder Cranes special attributes. His construction experience makes it easy to look at you prints and accurately choreograph the placement and use of the crane and his experience in motion picture and theater production will help in both safe and correct crane applications but also the ability to custom design adaptors to meet your lighting or grip needs. The work he does is uplifting and it shows.
